Meet Tatiana Ashanti

Hi, I’m Tatiana, the visionary behind Tatiana Ashanti Studio, where bespoke, handcrafted designs and bold, statement pieces come to life. Creativity has been an integral part of my journey for as long as I can remember. From excelling in art classes as a child to crafting custom works for clients today, my passion for creating has always been at the core of who I am.

My love for design began in middle school, where I was known for my drawing abilities. In high school, I expanded my artistic horizons by taking formal drawing classes and discovering my passion for fashion design through a Fashion & Fabrics course. By senior year, I had the confidence and skills to design and sew my own prom dress from scratch. This pivotal experience opened the door to a world of opportunities, including designing for multiple college fashion shows in the years to come.

The first custom garment I ever created for someone else was during my freshman year of college. While working at JoAnn Fabrics, I met a client who needed a gown for a maternity shoot. She trusted me to bring her vision to life, even though I had never created a custom piece for anyone other than myself. Despite my initial nerves, the gown exceeded her expectations and solidified my belief in my creative abilities. That same year, I showcased my first collection at a college fashion show. By sophomore year, I was designing multiple collections and presenting at various universities and community events.

While my days of designing full collections for fashion shows are behind me, my passion for creating custom works has flourished into a thriving business. During my senior year of college, I designed my graduation cap which garnered so much attention and became one of my most popular requests. More than five years post-graduation, custom graduation caps remain a staple of my studio’s offerings. Over the years, I’ve also crafted Greek paddles, household decorations, Greek-inspired apparel, and countless keepsakes—earning a reputation as a local go-to for unique, personalized creations.
